Elly Rosen is the primary developer of and instructor for the Global Valuation & Appraisal AiCertification™ program of the AISociety - Appraisers International Society (AIS)™, the organization he founded in October of 2009 and which now has Accredited International Valuers in 7- countries, on 4-continents.
Since 1982, Mr. Rosen has been the primary developer and instructor of Appraisal & Valuation Principles & Standards as well as their applied Ethics, Procedures, Methodology and Reporting
requirements for
all personal property appraisal specialty areas, and for Gems & Jewelry in particular.
1986 President of GIA Alumni Association's New York Chapter [GIA-AA NYC], Elly's 3-decades of service and leadership to the gems and jewelry trade and the appraisal profession has included:
2009-Present Founder of the AISociety and primary Developer & Instructor of the AiCertification program; a 5-course, triple-title, online, audio-video, 11-month, 250-hour program of education,
testing and certification
and referrals for global valuers and appraisers of all personal property specialty areas, including gems and jewelry with current alumni and participants in 7-countries on 4-continents.
1995-Present AIS-NetWork on Polygon, the Jewelry Industry's Trading NetWork, including the "AIS Appraisal Reporter" and "AIS Gems & Jewelry Trade Reference" Forums and Databases;
1994-85 Developer of the original program for the Advanced Personal Property Appraiser (APPA) of the American Gem Society (AGS)
1992-2000 Member of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee Appraisal Task Force (JVC-ATF)
1982-93 Primary Developer and Instructor of the Certified Appraiser of Personal Property Program (CAPP) of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), during which time he also served as ISA
Board Chairman,
Vice-President of Standards & Qualifications, Gems & Jewelry Division Chair and many other positions.
1980-88 American Society of Appraisers member and officer, including NYC Chapter President (1986-87) and Deputy New York State Director (1988)
1984 Vice-President of the Accredited Gemologist Association (AGA)
Elly has been a prolific writer of feature articles and cover stories on appraising, gemology and gems and jewelry trade laws and regulations for major jewwelry industry publications, including:
Jewelers Circular Keystone (JCK); Modern Jeweler; InStore; Rapaport Diamond Report (RDR), American Jewelry Manufacturer
(AJM of MJSA); Lapidary Journal.
